Romanian Engineers To Petrolink

The lack of qualified engineers has enticed Petrolink to explore new recruitment opportunities. During the fall of 2012 company representatives visited Romania to establish collaboration with local suppliers of technical personnel for assignment to Norway. It was a pre-requisite that candidates possessed education at MSc level and experience from oil & gas – preferably also from international assignments. It was soon confirmed that Romania has ample availability of qualified engineers and several were interviewed during the visit for presentation to projects in Norway.

“The first Romanian engineers arrived around New Year for assignment to our projects in Stavanger. We are very satisfied with their performance so far. Integration with our teams has been very smooth both as regards work performance and social relations”, says Department Manager Structural, Mr. Rune Røisland, at Rosenberg Yard in Stavanger.

It is Petrolink’s ambition to develop the relations now established in Romania further, which may imply establishment of a Petrolink engineering company in the country for execution of assignments for Norwegian clients. “It is within the structural, design and process disciplines our new colleagues in Romania are particularly strong, but we also consider other demands and opportunities together with our clients”, says Mr. Ole Jakob Olsen, who is Department Manager for Project Services in Petrolink.
